Post Race Analysis and Review
After months of training, you likely arrived fit and ready to race. Unfortunately, not every race unfolds as expected. Did you know that nutrition and hydration are often key factors in why athletes fall short of their full potential on race day? Issues like cramping, early fatigue, bonking, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and a sloshy stomach can sabotage an otherwise great race experience.
With the race now behind you, it’s important to objectively review your performance, celebrating your successes and pinpointing areas for improvement. Learning from this experience and adjusting your race day strategy are essential steps toward improving in future races.

Common race day nutritional issues include
- Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal cramping.
- Nausea, reflux, lightheadedness, or dizziness.
- Requiring an IV after the race due to dehydration.
- Requiring hospitalization after the race.
- Inability to execute your nutrition plan as practiced in training
- Finishing the race and experiencing puffiness in the hands and face or weighing more post-race than pre-race.
- Feeling your race could be improved, even if it went okay.
- Running out of energy or bonking late in the race.
- Experiencing nutritional or gastrointestinal issues on race day, not during training.
If you can relate to any of the above, this service is for you.
